Turning your hobby or interest into a business can be the greatest career decision you can make. This is what I call "The Sweet Spot" Do what you love AND get paid for it!? Who in their right mind would pass up this type of opportunity?

I was asked by an inspired reader for guidance on how to effectively turn her hobby of making jewelry into a business. I was really intrigued by this reader because like most of us she stated shes been "wanting" to start her business but just didn't know how to go about it. Like my reader I use to have this same block until I realized that a goal without a plan is just a wish. However, its still good practice to be careful what you wish for.

 Where Do I begin? Another million dollar question.

 First you want to count up the cost.

 Luke 14:28 "But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?

Do an interview on your-self by honestly answering the following questions.

Will I enjoy doing my hobby on a deadline?
This will be work and the relationships you build with your customers will be greatly depended on meeting some sort of deadline.

Will I enjoy doing this with a financial gun to my head?
Meaning if RENT is Due Rent is Due, You MUST stay proactive to ensure cash flow.

 Is this hobby my outlet for relaxation?
Because, if it is, you're going to have to find something else to do to unwind--your hobby will no longer have that effect.

Am I up for a challenge?
You will have to remain a sponge willing to learn and challenge yourself in order to be successful.

Am I willing to sell myself?
By no means does this refer to the term "Sell Out" But You will be charged with the task of sharing your Time Talent & Treasure with the public.

I call everything I do "A Project" Doing one thing at a time keeping actions simple as possible. I generally start with the goal in mind.

For example : How much money do I need to meet a certain goal? I want a new red car, I want to take a vacation etc etc.

Then I break down the time (DEADLINE) that I have left to meet that goal aka (Strategy). Keep in mind Strategy gives direction.

Next, I begin breaking down the daily, weekly tasks steps necessary to meet the goal.
Strategy without execution is an illusion. I make a plan, Then work the plan. With laser focus.
